Curative Members Access Mobile IV Therapy Services

Coverage Guidance for Convenient Texas Mobile CareUploaded Image

When you need medical support or IV treatment, leaving home and waiting at a clinic may not always be convenient. IVTherapy2go® brings licensed medical professionals and eligible mobile healthcare services to patients at home, work, a hotel, or another approved location.

IVTherapy2go accepts Curative insurance for eligible medical services. However, coverage can vary based on the member’s plan, network, employer benefits, medical needs, and requested treatment. Curative members should confirm their benefits before scheduling.

Does IVTherapy2go Accept Curative Insurance?

Yes. IVTherapy2go currently accepts Curative insurance through its physician-services contractor, DK Physicians PLLC.

Accepting Curative insurance does not mean every IV treatment, vitamin, medication, laboratory test, or mobile-service charge is automatically covered. Final coverage depends on the member’s eligibility, provider network, medical necessity, plan requirements, and how Curative processes the claim.

Before scheduling, verify:

  • That your Curative coverage is active

  • Whether DK Physicians PLLC is in network

  • Whether the requested treatment is covered

  • Whether mobile or in-home care is included

  • Whether a referral or prior authorization is required

  • Whether laboratory testing has separate benefits

  • Whether medications and IV ingredients are covered

  • Whether a copay, deductible, or coinsurance applies

  • Whether travel or convenience charges are excluded

  • Whether the service is considered medical or elective

Curative provides the final determination of benefits and payment after reviewing the completed claim.

What Services May Be Available?

Depending on the member’s medical needs, clinician assessment, treatment orders, and Curative benefits, IVTherapy2go may provide services such as:

  • Medical evaluation before IV treatment

  • Hydration therapy

  • Physician-recommended IV treatment

  • Mobile nursing or paramedic services

  • Telemedicine physician consultation

  • Evaluation of dehydration-related symptoms

  • Certain prescribed intravenous medications

  • Laboratory-result review

  • Monitoring during treatment

  • Follow-up and aftercare instructions

  • Referral to another level of care when needed

Available services may vary according to the patient’s age, symptoms, medical history, medications, laboratory results, treatment request, and location.

Some wellness or elective vitamin infusions may not qualify as covered medical services. Patients should ask whether the requested treatment will be billed to insurance or provided through self-pay.

How Do I Verify My Curative Benefits?

Call the member-services number on your current Curative insurance card. Have the card available so the representative can identify your exact plan, employer group, and provider network.

Ask the Curative representative:

  • Does DK Physicians PLLC participate with my plan?

  • Are IVTherapy2go mobile services covered?

  • Is in-home medical care a covered benefit?

  • Is the medical evaluation covered?

  • Is IV hydration covered when medically necessary?

  • Are vitamins, medications, and IV supplies covered?

  • Are laboratory tests billed separately?

  • Is prior authorization required?

  • Do I need a physician order or referral?

  • What copay, deductible, or coinsurance applies?

  • Are elective or wellness infusions excluded?

  • Are travel or mobile-service charges covered?

  • What claims information should the provider use?

Write down the representative’s name, the date of the call, and the reference number. Keep this information with your appointment records.

Why Is Medical Necessity Important?

Insurance plans commonly distinguish between medically necessary treatment and elective wellness services.

A mobile IV treatment may be considered medically necessary when a qualified medical professional determines that it is appropriate for a diagnosed condition or documented healthcare need. Coverage may depend on:

  • The patient’s symptoms

  • Medical history

  • Physical assessment

  • Laboratory results

  • Treatment orders

  • Previous treatments

  • Curative’s clinical policies

  • The specific medication or IV ingredients

  • The recommended level of care

An infusion requested only for general wellness, energy, athletic performance, beauty, travel recovery, or convenience may not be covered—even when the provider accepts Curative insurance.

IVTherapy2go can review the available clinical information before treatment, but Curative makes the final coverage decision.

Are Laboratory Tests Covered?

Certain IV treatments and medications may require laboratory testing before they can be administered safely. Required testing depends on the patient’s health history and requested service.

Before completing laboratory work, ask:

  • Is the laboratory in my Curative network?

  • Is the ordered test covered?

  • Does the test require prior authorization?

  • Must I use a preferred laboratory?

  • Will the test apply to my deductible?

  • Are mobile specimen-collection charges covered?

  • Will the laboratory submit a separate claim?

  • Could I receive a separate laboratory bill?

Coverage for the medical visit does not guarantee that every laboratory service will be covered at the same amount.

Is Prior Authorization Required?

Some Curative services may require approval before treatment. A general medical evaluation may not require authorization, while certain medications, repeated treatments, specialized infusions, and laboratory services may have additional requirements.

If authorization is required, confirm:

  • Who must submit the request

  • Which clinical records are needed

  • Whether laboratory results are required

  • Whether a physician order is necessary

  • How many treatments are approved

  • When the authorization expires

  • Whether the medication and administration are both included

  • Whether the mobile setting is approved

Authorization does not guarantee payment. Eligibility, network status, medical necessity, exclusions, and claim-processing rules may still affect the final amount owed.

What Happens During a Mobile Appointment?

A licensed medical professional travels to the approved appointment location and evaluates the patient before beginning treatment.

The visit may include:

  1. Confirming the patient’s identity and insurance information

  2. Reviewing symptoms and the reason for treatment

  3. Reviewing medical conditions, medications, and allergies

  4. Checking vital signs

  5. Completing or coordinating a physician consultation

  6. Reviewing relevant laboratory results

  7. Confirming that the treatment is medically appropriate

  8. Preparing and administering the IV

  9. Monitoring the patient during treatment

  10. Providing follow-up and aftercare instructions

Treatment may be delayed or canceled if the clinical team determines that mobile IV therapy is not safe or appropriate for the patient’s condition.

Where Is Mobile Care Available?

IVTherapy2go serves supported communities throughout Texas, with a particular focus on:

  • Dallas–Fort Worth

  • Austin and nearby communities

  • San Antonio and surrounding areas

Additional service areas may include:

  • Arlington

  • Farmers Branch

  • Brownwood

  • Houston

  • El Paso

  • Other supported Texas communities

Availability depends on the patient’s address, requested treatment, staffing, travel distance, and medical needs. Contact IVTherapy2go to confirm service at your exact location.

What Should I Have Ready?

Before calling IVTherapy2go, prepare:

  • Your current Curative insurance card

  • A government-issued photo ID

  • Your employer or group name

  • A list of medications and supplements

  • Known medication or food allergies

  • Relevant medical conditions

  • Recent laboratory results

  • Physician orders, when required

  • Referral or authorization information

  • Your preferred appointment address

  • A payment method for non-covered costs

  • Your Curative benefit-verification reference number

Providing complete information can help the team understand your request, review available benefits, and determine the appropriate next step.

Will I Have Out-of-Pocket Costs?

Possibly. Patient responsibility can depend on:

  • Copayments

  • Remaining deductible

  • Coinsurance

  • Provider network

  • Medical necessity

  • Covered and excluded services

  • Medications and supplies

  • Laboratory charges

  • Mobile-service fees

  • Travel charges

  • Prior-authorization requirements

  • How Curative processes the claim

If an estimated amount is collected before treatment, the final balance may change after Curative reviews the claim.

Patients remain responsible for copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and services that are not covered by the plan. Ask for an estimate and confirm which parts of the appointment may be billed separately.

Understanding Your Explanation of Benefits

After the claim is processed, Curative may send an Explanation of Benefits, commonly called an EOB. An EOB explains how the claim was processed and is not necessarily a bill.

Review it for:

  • The submitted service

  • The amount billed

  • Curative’s allowed amount

  • Network adjustments

  • The amount paid by the plan

  • The amount applied to your deductible

  • Copay or coinsurance

  • Denied or excluded services

  • Your estimated responsibility

Compare the EOB with any bill you receive. Contact Curative and the billing team if the information does not match or if you believe the claim was processed incorrectly.

When Should You Seek Emergency Care?

Mobile IV therapy is not a replacement for emergency medical care.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for:

  • Chest pain

  • Severe breathing difficulty

  • Signs of a stroke

  • Loss of consciousness

  • Uncontrolled bleeding

  • Severe dehydration with confusion or fainting

  • A serious allergic reaction

  • Major trauma

  • Another potentially life-threatening condition

The IVTherapy2go team may recommend emergency or facility-based care if the patient’s condition cannot be treated safely through a mobile appointment.

Schedule With Curative Insurance

If you have Curative insurance, IVTherapy2go can collect your plan information and help review available benefits before your appointment. Curative provides the final confirmation of network participation, coverage, authorization requirements, and member costs.

Visit the IVTherapy2go Curative insurance page, explore available IV therapies, or call (817) 508-8169 for scheduling and insurance-verification assistance.

Have your Curative insurance card, requested service, recent medical information, and appointment address ready when you call. The team can then determine whether the service may be submitted to insurance or whether self-pay arrangements should be discussed before treatment.
