Sana Benefits Members May Access IVTherapy2go Mobile Care

Confirm Your Benefits Before Scheduling IV TherapyUploaded Image

If you have Sana Benefits, you may be eligible to use your health plan for certain medically appropriate services provided through IVTherapy2go®. Coverage depends on your employer’s specific Sana plan, provider network, symptoms, medical necessity, requested treatment, deductible, and other benefit requirements.

IVTherapy2go brings eligible mobile care to homes, workplaces, hotels, and other approved locations. Before scheduling, review the IVTherapy2go Sana Benefits information and confirm your individual benefits.

Does IVTherapy2go Accept Sana Benefits?

IVTherapy2go lists Sana Benefits as an accepted insurance provider. However, accepting an insurance plan does not mean that every service, medication, IV package, or supply will be covered for every member.

Sana Benefits plans can differ by employer. Two members who both have Sana may have different provider networks, deductibles, copayments, covered services, and authorization requirements.

Before your appointment, confirm:

  • Your Sana Benefits membership is active.

  • DK Physicians PLLC participates with your plan.

  • The treating healthcare professional is in network.

  • The requested service is included in your benefits.

  • The service meets your plan’s medical-necessity requirements.

  • A referral or prior authorization is not required.

  • Medications and IV supplies are covered.

  • Laboratory testing has separate benefits.

  • You understand your expected patient responsibility.

Insurance verification reflects the information available at that time. It does not guarantee that Sana Benefits will pay the entire claim.

Which IV Services May Be Insurance Eligible?

The IVTherapy2go insurance page identifies several IV packages for which insurance coverage may be available when treatment is medically appropriate and approved under the member’s plan.

These currently include:

  • HydraBoost 500

  • HydraBoost 1000

  • Hangover Haven

  • MigraineMelt

  • Nausea Nix

  • Tummy Tonic

  • Clindamycin

  • Lasix

  • Ceftriaxone

Coverage is not automatic. The healthcare professional must determine whether the requested treatment is appropriate, and Sana Benefits must process the service under the member’s individual plan.

IVTherapy2go states that eligible insurance packages may be covered when medically appropriate and approved by the health plan. Member costs depend on the individual benefits.

Are Wellness IV Therapies Covered?

Some IV treatments are designed for elective hydration, wellness, recovery, or nutrient support rather than the treatment of a covered medical condition.

An elective wellness infusion may not be covered by Sana Benefits even if IVTherapy2go participates with the plan.

Before selecting a service, ask:

  • Is this IV package considered medically necessary?

  • Is it a covered medical treatment or an elective wellness service?

  • Does my plan exclude vitamin or hydration infusions?

  • Are the medication and supplies included?

  • Will the physician consultation be billed separately?

  • Will the mobile house-call service create a separate charge?

  • Is a self-pay amount available if the service is excluded?

Do not assume that an IV package is covered based only on its name or its appearance on the website.

What Does a Mobile Visit Include?

An insurance-eligible IVTherapy2go visit may include:

  • A mobile visit from a paramedic, RN, or LVN

  • A telemedicine physician consultation

  • The selected and medically approved IV package

  • Medical screening

  • Review of current medications and allergies

  • Vital-sign assessment

  • IV placement

  • Monitoring during treatment

  • Aftercare instructions

IVTherapy2go states that its insurance IV visits include a paramedic, LVN, or RN house call, a telemedicine physician consultation, and the selected infusion package.

The exact services included depend on the treatment ordered, medical assessment, and Sana Benefits coverage.

How Does IVTherapy2go Work?

The process generally begins online:

  1. Schedule your visit. Select the requested service and enter accurate contact and location information.

  2. Provide your Sana Benefits information. Submit your member identification details for insurance verification.

  3. Complete your medical forms. Report your health history, medications, allergies, symptoms, and reason for requesting treatment.

  4. Speak with a healthcare professional. A telemedicine physician evaluates whether the service is medically appropriate.

  5. Meet the mobile professional. A licensed paramedic, RN, or LVN arrives at the approved location.

  6. Receive the approved treatment. The professional administers the ordered therapy and monitors you during the visit.

  7. Follow the care instructions. Complete any recommended testing, follow-up, or additional evaluation.

IVTherapy2go’s FAQ states that appointments are provided at the patient’s home, hotel, or office and that the mobile professional arrives within an appointment window.

Where Can You Receive Mobile Care?

Depending on service availability and clinical approval, treatment may take place at:

  • Your home

  • Your workplace

  • A hotel

  • Another appropriate serviced location

The treatment area should be clean, comfortable, well lit, and accessible. You should have a safe place to sit or recline while the infusion is administered.

IVTherapy2go is currently a mobile-only service and does not administer IV therapy at its office locations.

What Should You Prepare?

Before the medical professional arrives, have the following ready:

  • Current Sana Benefits member information

  • Government-issued photo identification

  • Medication and supplement list

  • Medication allergies

  • A description of your symptoms

  • Relevant medical records

  • Recent laboratory results, when applicable

  • Referral or authorization documents

  • Preferred pharmacy information

  • Emergency-contact information

  • A clean and comfortable treatment area

  • A fully charged telephone

Tell the team before the appointment if you have experienced difficulty with IV placement, fainting during blood draws, allergies to adhesive or antiseptic products, or a previous infusion reaction.

Keep your telephone nearby because the mobile professional may contact you while traveling to the location. Secure all pets before the professional arrives.

Is Medical Screening Required?

Yes. Completing insurance verification does not mean that a patient is automatically eligible to receive an infusion.

A healthcare professional must review the patient’s:

  • Reason for requesting treatment

  • Current symptoms

  • Medical history

  • Medications

  • Allergies

  • Vital signs

  • Previous treatment reactions

  • Pregnancy status when relevant

  • Recent laboratory results when required

  • Other safety concerns

The physician may approve the requested service, recommend a different treatment, require testing, postpone treatment, or determine that mobile IV therapy is not appropriate.

IVTherapy2go’s FAQ states that a board-certified physician may recommend testing or another form of care when IV therapy cannot be administered safely in the home setting.

Will You Need Laboratory Testing?

Laboratory testing may be required depending on the symptoms, medication, requested service, and healthcare professional’s judgment.

Testing may be necessary to review:

  • Electrolytes

  • Kidney function

  • Liver function

  • Blood counts

  • Hydration status

  • Evidence of infection

  • Iron levels

  • Other treatment-related concerns

A covered consultation does not automatically mean that laboratory testing is included.

Before completing testing, ask Sana Benefits:

  • Is the requested test covered?

  • Is the laboratory in network?

  • Does the test require prior authorization?

  • Must I use a designated laboratory?

  • Will the laboratory submit a separate claim?

  • What amount may I owe?

Do not delay urgent medical care while waiting for insurance authorization or laboratory benefits to be confirmed.

How Can You Verify Your Sana Benefits?

Contact Sana Benefits using the member-services information on your insurance card.

Ask the representative:

  • Is DK Physicians PLLC in network?

  • Is IVTherapy2go an eligible service provider?

  • Is a mobile medical house call covered?

  • Is the telemedicine physician consultation covered?

  • Is my requested IV package covered?

  • Does the service require medical necessity?

  • Do I need prior authorization?

  • Do I need a referral?

  • Are medications and supplies billed separately?

  • Are laboratory services billed separately?

  • Does my deductible apply?

  • Will I owe a copay or coinsurance?

  • Are elective wellness infusions excluded?

  • Is there a limit on the number of visits?

Write down the representative’s name, the date and time of the call, and the reference number.

If Sana Benefits requires a specific diagnosis, authorization, referral, or provider network, confirm that the requirement has been completed before treatment.

What Costs Could Apply?

Depending on your plan, you may be responsible for:

  • A deductible

  • A copayment

  • Coinsurance

  • An out-of-network amount

  • A non-covered medication

  • A non-covered IV package

  • Laboratory charges

  • Mobile-service charges

  • Supplies

  • Follow-up care

  • The full cost of an elective or excluded service

IVTherapy2go’s insurance disclaimer states that copayments, deductibles, and non-covered services remain the patient’s responsibility. It also encourages patients to verify benefits for DK Physicians PLLC directly with their health plan.

Request an estimate when possible, but remember that an estimate is not a guarantee of final claim payment.

Are Prescriptions or Medications Automatically Covered?

No. The medical visit, infusion medication, supplies, pharmacy benefits, and follow-up treatment may be processed differently under your health plan.

If a medication is recommended, confirm:

  • It is covered by Sana Benefits.

  • Prior authorization is not required.

  • The dosage and method of administration are covered.

  • The pharmacy or medication supplier is in network.

  • You understand any patient responsibility.

A healthcare professional must also determine whether a medication is clinically appropriate. Coverage alone does not guarantee that a medication will be ordered.

Mobile IV Care in Texas

IVTherapy2go provides mobile services in select areas of Texas, with particular focus on:

  • Dallas–Fort Worth and surrounding communities

  • Austin and surrounding communities

  • San Antonio and surrounding communities

Service may also be available in Arlington, Farmers Branch, Brownwood, Houston, El Paso, and other eligible Texas locations.

Availability depends on ZIP code, requested treatment, clinical eligibility, medication availability, and mobile-team coverage. IVTherapy2go advises patients to enter their ZIP code during scheduling to confirm whether service is currently available.

When Is Mobile IV Therapy Not Appropriate?

Mobile IV therapy is not a replacement for emergency treatment.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for:

  • Chest pain

  • Severe difficulty breathing

  • Signs of a stroke

  • Loss of consciousness

  • Uncontrolled bleeding

  • A severe allergic reaction

  • A seizure

  • Severe dehydration with confusion or fainting

  • Persistent vomiting with concerning weakness

  • A serious injury

  • Rapidly worsening symptoms

  • Another potentially life-threatening condition

IVTherapy2go directs patients who believe they are experiencing an emergency to call 911 or seek emergency care.

Do not wait for insurance verification or a mobile appointment if emergency care may be necessary.
