Elan Benefit Services Mobile IV Therapy at Home

SMARTCARE Benefits With IVTherapy2go™ Across Eligible Texas AreasUploaded Image

When you are not feeling your best, traveling to a medical office or wellness center may feel overwhelming. IVTherapy2go™ provides mobile IV wellness services in eligible Texas service areas, allowing qualifying patients to receive care at home, at work, or another approved location.

Elan Benefit Services employees enrolled in the SMARTCARE 200804 Rx 15-25 Plan may have access to participating providers through the EHN Preferred Network. However, coverage for mobile IV therapy is not guaranteed and must be verified before receiving services.

What Does the Elan SMARTCARE Plan Include?

The Elan SMARTCARE 200804 Rx 15-25 Plan lists:

  • A $25 copay for primary-care visits

  • A $65 copay for specialist visits

These amounts do not confirm the cost of mobile IV therapy. The medical evaluation, IV fluids, medications, vitamins, supplies, administration fees, and mobile services may be processed differently under the plan.

Your financial responsibility may depend on eligibility, network participation, medical necessity, prior authorization, exclusions, and the services provided. An insurance card does not guarantee coverage or payment.

For scheduling assistance, call IVTherapy2go at (817) 508-8169.

Can Elan Employees Use IVTherapy2go?

Eligible Elan Benefit Services employees and covered family members may request mobile IV wellness services through IVTherapy2go. Every patient must complete an appropriate medical evaluation to determine whether treatment is suitable.

Depending on the patient’s health history and clinical needs, available services may support:

  • General hydration

  • Recovery after travel

  • Wellness support

  • Fluid replacement

  • Physician-directed care

  • Treatment recommended after a medical evaluation

Not every patient is an appropriate candidate for IV therapy. The medical team will review your symptoms, medical history, current medications, allergies, and health concerns before treatment.

Insurance coverage depends on eligibility, medical necessity, plan benefits, network participation, authorization requirements, and the services provided.

IV therapy is not a substitute for emergency treatment. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, signs of a stroke, fainting, confusion, uncontrolled bleeding, severe dehydration, major trauma, or another life-threatening emergency.

Is Mobile IV Therapy Covered?

Coverage for mobile IV therapy varies by service and medical necessity. Some wellness-focused treatments may be excluded from medical insurance or considered the patient’s financial responsibility.

Before scheduling, ask the plan whether it covers:

  • The required medical evaluation

  • Mobile or in-home services

  • IV fluids

  • Medications or vitamins

  • Medical supplies

  • Administration fees

  • Laboratory testing

  • Travel or convenience fees

Ask the representative for a reference number and keep it with your records. Final coverage and financial responsibility are determined when the plan processes the claim.

Who Administers the Elan SMARTCARE Plan?

Coastal Administrative Services, also known as CAS, is the third-party administrator for the Elan SMARTCARE 200804 Rx 15-25 Plan.

CAS and Elan Member Services can assist with:

  • Member eligibility

  • IV-service benefit verification

  • Prior-authorization requirements

  • Claim-status questions

  • Copays and other member costs

  • Provider-network participation

  • General plan questions

Members and providers may:

  • Call Elan Member Services at (833) 845-8854

  • Call CAS at (800) 870-1831

  • Visit the CAS Website

There is currently no dedicated Elan Benefit Services insurance page on the IVTherapy2go website. Members should use the official CAS resources and the information printed on their current insurance cards.

How Do I Verify My IV-Therapy Benefits?

Before scheduling, contact Elan Member Services at (833) 845-8854 or CAS at (800) 870-1831.

Consider asking:

  • Does IVTherapy2go participate with my specific SMARTCARE plan?

  • Are mobile IV services covered?

  • Is the medical evaluation covered separately?

  • Do the listed primary-care or specialist copays apply?

  • Are IV fluids, medications, vitamins, and supplies covered?

  • Does the service require prior authorization?

  • Are there service-area or network restrictions?

  • Will I have a time-of-service responsibility?

Benefit information provided before treatment is helpful, but final coverage is determined when the insurance company processes the claim.

Is Prior Authorization Required?

Prior-authorization requirements depend on the requested medical service, medication, and treatment.

Contact Elan Member Services at (833) 845-8854 or CAS at (800) 870-1831 before receiving services that may require advance approval. Providers may also use the CAS Website for plan-related assistance.

Receiving prior authorization does not guarantee claim payment. Eligibility, medical necessity, network participation, exclusions, and other plan provisions may still apply.

What Provider Network Does the Plan Use?

The Elan SMARTCARE plan uses the EHN Preferred Network. This network includes Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance providers who have elected to participate.

Not every Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance provider participates in this particular network. Members should confirm that IVTherapy2go and the requested service participate with their specific SMARTCARE plan.

To locate or confirm an in-network provider:

  • Visit the EHN Member Portal

  • Call Elan Member Services at (833) 845-8854

  • Contact BSWQA Care Navigation at 1-844-279-7589

Provide the Elan Benefit Services employer name, member identification number, provider name, and requested service when confirming participation.

Are Specialist Referrals Required?

The available Elan Benefit Services plan information does not identify a standard specialist-referral requirement.

Referral and prior-authorization requirements may vary according to the requested treatment. Even when a referral is not required, IV medications, supplies, laboratory testing, or related services may need advance approval. Contact Elan Member Services or CAS before treatment.

What Should I Prepare Before My Appointment?

Please have the following available:

  • Your Elan SMARTCARE insurance card

  • A photo identification card

  • A current medication list

  • Known medication or food allergies

  • Your medical history

  • Relevant laboratory results

  • Any referral or authorization documents

  • A description of your symptoms or wellness concerns

  • Information about recent illnesses or treatments

  • A safe and appropriate place for the mobile visit

The medical team may ask additional health-screening questions before confirming that IV therapy is appropriate.
